Former Student Intern Becomes Ship Fun Boss

Navy Region Northwest (NRNW) Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) recently announced another successful transition of one of their university internship program graduates into the Commander Navy Installations Command FFR network. Former NRNW student intern and Central Michigan University graduate Bryttany Kaplan transitioned into a career position as the USS Carl Vinson Morale Welfare and Recreation Afloat Recreation Specialist.

An Afloat Recreation Specialist, or more commonly known as a “Fun Boss,” is primarily responsible for the planning and coordination of a well–balanced recreational program, to include other leisure activities for crew members and embarked personnel aboard United States Navy aircraft carriers and large-deck amphibious assault ships.
