Mind, Body, Mental Fitness
Mind, Body, Mental Fitness enhances resiliency and mental toughness through the use of evidence-based mindfulness skills. The primary goal of MBMF is to enhance the mind, body, spirit and social domains in one’s life. These trainings will give you practical tools to manage stress, improve focus, and stay mission-ready…on the boat, at work, in an office, or at home. It’s real-life skills you can use immediately, not just another briefing. Open to sailors and family members.
- Stress Resilience – Mind Body Mental Fitness
Module 1 of the Mind Body Mental Fitness Series explores how stress affects the 4 domains of resilience (mind, body, spirit and social). Learn and practice the vital skill of Energy Management and Recalibration which will allow one to resync with their mind-body connection and will increase clear thinking an optimize performance. Turn stress into growth opportunities and recognize stress before it becomes a problem. - Mindfulness & Meditation – Mind Body Mental Fitness
Module 2 of the Mind Body Mental Fitness Series explores the three attitudes of mindfulness: non-judgment, curiosity, and acceptance and how to use these in a moment-to-moment basis to improve decision-making, reduce destructive behaviors and increase optimal performance. Understand the benefits of mindfulness and meditation and how they aid in recovery from stress. Practice being mindful and learn how to begin or further your own mindfulness and meditation practices. - Living Core Values – Mind Body Mental Fitness
Module 3 of the Mind Body Mental Fitness Series. Learn how to define your values and relate them to your goals. Understand how values help you in the face of stress to stay on course and maintain commitment and consistency. Identify how your values relate to Navy values and develop problem solving strategies when values and behaviors conflict. - Flexibility – Mind Body Mental Fitness
Module 4 of the Mind Body Mental Fitness Series. Learn how to better understand your own thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Learn how thoughts, emotions and behaviors are different, how they interact with one another and how to deal with them. Practice your newly learned flexibility skills and discuss how to apply these skills in different settings. This module is heavily skills-based and participants will walk away with tangible skills they can put to immediate use. - Problem Solving – Mind Body Mental Fitness
Module 5 of the Mind Body Mental Fitness Series. Learn how to understand the basic steps of problem solving including many examples of practical application at work and at home. Learn how to recognize and build healthy and helpful coping skills to deal with all the daily challenges that life brings. Recognize the dynamics and interactions of personal and group challenges. - Connection – Mind Body Mental Fitness
Module 6 of the Mind Body Mental Fitness Series. Learn how to define connection and communication and how they help to manage stress and create resiliency. Learn how to identify your support network and how to use connection in a beneficial manner. Recognize the different communication styles and the impact they have on successful communication with others. Learn the vital role empathetic listening has in connection with others, effective communication and cohesiveness of groups and organizations.
