The sacrifices you and your family made through this last deployment were undeniably selfless and brave. You’ve been home for one month now and we want to make sure that you are adjusting well! We’ve got a number of program highlights that we are excited about that will support you and your family as you continue to transition onshore.
Trips & Tours
Sol Duc Falls Trail Hike | Saturday, May 1, 6 a.m.-5 p.m.
This trip will head to the beautiful Olympic National Forest to enjoy a day in nature. It's a moderate-mile hike to reach the falls from the trailhead, and the route navigates a lush forest environment encompassing towering trees and many shades of green. The falls are a picturesque attraction, and the boardwalk and viewing area provides multiple angles to appreciate the view. Register by Friday, April 23. Cost: $5 LIBERTY-eligible, $10 per person by calling Bremerton Recreation Center: 360-476-3178 or Bangor Recreation Center: 360-396-2449.
Curbside Date Night to Go | Thursday, April 22, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
We have a date night planned for you and your partner! Stop by the Bangor Recreation Center and the Landings Community Center to pick up everything you need for the perfect date night. Includes edible treats, paint supplies and even a game of questions for any stage of love.
Family Friday Swim Nights @ Bangor Pool | 3-7 p.m.
By reservation only (1-hour reservations)
Bangor Aquatics Center to close to general use and offer exclusive swim access to Nimitz families only. Two families of up to 10 members (from the same household) per hour in a socially distanced designated area. Call 360-315-2131 to reserve a spot!
Special Events at the Bangor Theater | Doors open at Noon for 1 p.m. Showing
Sunday, April 18: Avengers End Game, and Sunday, May 21 Harry Potter Sorcerer's Stone. Includes special activities for families, photo ops and surprise guests.
Late Night at the Fleet Recreation Center | 5-11 p.m.
Open to Active Duty only. Sinclair's is open after hours just for you! Drop-in for FREE snacks, games and prizes!
Join our golf league where teams of two compete at Gold Mountain Golf Course. Fee is $24 per person each week. Trending, Weekly Disc Golf Program we encourage you to get out and explore the different Disc Golf Courses in Kitsap County. Stop by the Bangor or Bremerton Fitness Centers for a scorecard and discs. Complete your scorecard and enter for a weekly prize drawing.

For a hard copy, visit your nearest Fleet & Family Readiness Facility. This class focuses on enhancing your resiliency by strengthening your current skills and introducing you to new ones. You will be taught to view and handle stressors differently to help achieve your optimal performance. This 2-hour class is held once a week for three consecutive weeks.
