Supply Linen Technician

Location: Navy Gateway Inns & Suites - Bangor

Pay Grade: NF-2005-01

Brief Description of Duties: The incumbent is responsible for the inventory of supplies and linens used in support of the operation. Ensures security and privacy of all guests is maintained. Must possess a welcoming and positive attitude; demonstrates effective communication skills. Provide assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary. Prepare purchase request forms/documents for approval and places orders for APF/NAF purchases, where appropriate. Maintains stock records, conducts monthly inventory as appropriate. Required to maintain a minimum of 90% inventory accuracy. Receives and counts linen received from the commercial laundry service or onsite laundry operation. Issues linen as requested by the housekeeping department. Maintains assigned storerooms and linen storage spaces. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Preferred 6 months of work experience that demonstrates knowledge of inventory management including purchasing procedures and computerized record keeping. Must be skilled in the use of personal computer and various software programs and proficient with calculator. Must possess basic math and reading skills. Must have clear, effective verbal and writing skills. Maybe designated ALPHA personnel for inclement weather or in interest of national security and maybe required to report for work when other employees are excused. In order to verify fitness for duty, a complete physical examination maybe required. The incumbent is expected to attend all training and obtain any applicable certifications for supply/inventory technician within 6 months of employment, as well as, any other requirements outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide.

Conditions of Employment: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of National Agency background Check (NACI) with written inquiries. Must be at least 18 years of age. This position may work various shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds is required. May be required to possess a valid state driver’s license. Incumbent will be required to obtain a housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment, as well as, any other requirements outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide.
