Join the Navy Region Northwest (NRNW) N9 Team – a professional group of dedicated and talented individuals committed to the Fleet, Fighter and Family. This position is located within the CNRNW Fleet and Family Readiness Program (FFRP) in one of the Navy’s premier geographical locations.
Brief Description of Duties: This position is assigned to the Fleet and Family Readiness Program, Commander Navy Region Northwest (CNRNW), Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC). The purpose of the position is to organize, coordinate, execute, evaluate and supervise a comprehensive repair, maintenance and renovation program for multiple bases within the Region. Directly supervises and assigns duties to a full-time staff consisting of maintenance workers, carpenter, project manager and procurement administrative assistant. Assumes responsibility for minor to major repairs, renovations and special projects at all sites within the Region. Estimates project costs and time and working plans as needed. Assumes responsibility for equipment, vehicles, tools, and procurement of building materials. Prepares purchase requests ensuring appropriate procurement procedures. Responsible for administrative matters; including briefings, standard operating procedures, reporting, and a Safety Plan. Assist in preparation, execution and monitoring of annual non-appropriated fund (NAF) budgets. Conduct internal review to ascertain compliance with standard operating procedures and other assets of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department. Travel to and from various facilities within the Region in performance of assigned duties.
Qualification Requirements: A minimum of four years of experience that demonstrates knowledge and experience in applying the principles, methods, techniques and theories of field engineering to oversee the management and administration of facilities and maintenance functions. Knowledge of work methods and practices of various building trades. Knowledge of pertinent safety, occupational health, and environment regulations. Ability to supervise. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Knowledge of NAF policies are preferred. A minimum of three years supervisory experience is required. A certificate or license in at least one of the major trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.) is strongly preferred, but may be substituted by a minimum of 5 years of general trades experience with a minimum of two years of documented specialized training and/or experience in a combination of trades listed above.
Conditions of Employment: This position is subject to background check in accordance with federal regulations. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid State Drivers’ License. Administrative work is primarily sedentary in nature. Program work involves lifting up to 45 lbs unassisted, higher weight with assistance, outside work, and assisting with work at job sites. Duties will require travel to different offices, military and civilian, within local commuting area, as well as occasional travel to areas internal and external to the Region.
