Trident Lakes Recreation Area

Events

Trident Lakes Recreational Area features a softball field and two large covered cooking areas with large barbecue grills, perfect for a hungry crowd. Small picnic areas with grills are also available on a first come, first served basis. This area is a favorite with kids, a Big Toy designed to look like a ship takes center stage at the park. Pets are welcome, but leash laws are strictly enforced. Located just inside the Trigger Avenue gate at Naval Base Kitsap Bangor, Trident Lakes is a great place for a quick getaway for the family or entire command.

Story Stroll

Take a stroll around the lake and read the story for some outdoor family entertainment. Walk the whole trail to find each page and complete the book at your own pace. Stories change each month! Questions call 360-396-2449.

Fishing

The lakes are stocked bi-annually with fish and are a great place for beginner fishermen. The Bangor Recreation Center also rents fishing poles and waders. Motorized boats are not authorized for use in these lakes.

Everyone, with base access, wishing to fish must have an MWR Fishing Permit. Additionally those over 15 years-old need a Washington State Fishing License.

  • The MWR Fishing Permit is to be displayed on outer clothing when fishing.
  • Open daily, year-around.
  • Daylight fishing only.
  • Daily limit is three fish.
  • May use float tubes.
  • Fishing on lower base is closed.
