EVERETT, Wash. – Naval Station Everett’s MWR Department hosted its 3rd Annual NRNW Army vs. Navy Ice Hockey Game on March 3, 2018 from 1:30-4:30 pm at the Angel of the Winds Arena in downtown Everett. The game drew in 1,300+ fans – Almost double the amount of fans as previous years. The game ended with a Navy win, 7 to 5, taking home the coveted champion cup.

A vast line of Army & Navy fans circled the arena eagerly waiting for the doors to open at 1 pm for the most anticipated hockey game of the year. Patrons flooded the entrance while stopping for a photo opp with the Navy Ram, buying concessions, and then finding their seats.

Fans were left on the edge of their seats while each team played valiantly with coordinated, strategic skill. After falling behind 4-2 in the first period, team Navy clawed and scraped their way into the lead during the third and final period.

Navy players consisted of active duty service members from Navy Region Northwest, including Naval Base Kitsap and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, while the Army team consisted of other members from Joint Base Lewis-McCord. All team members played a commendable game.

We truly couldn’t be more thankful to the wonderful players for putting on a great game, and to all of our passionate Navy Fans.

Navy MWR is proud to hold Army vs. Navy Sporting events like Ice Hockey and Flag Football. Both games are free of charge and there are no ticket purchases necessary. We encourage you to catch each of these exhilarating games annually.
