Housing Management Assistant (Building Manager)

Location: Naval Base Kitsap Bangor Unaccompanied Housing

Pay Grade: NF-1173-03

Brief Description of Duties:  Incumbent performs inspections of vacant rooms and common areas daily checking cleanliness and maintenance problems. Conduct other inspections with the Site Manager, regional Manager, or CNIC staff as requested. Act as an escort when Public Works or contractors require access to guest rooms. The incumbent performs various maintenance related actions associated with their assigned building (change light bulbs, preventative maintenance on fire extinguishers, replace air filters, etc.). Incumbent responsibilities include initiating trouble calls and work requests for any maintenance problems. Follow up on all corrective actions to ensure completion and guest satisfaction. Responsible for control of furniture, fixtures, and equipment in assigned buildings. Coordinates with front desk and housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are ready for occupancy. Provides bank deposits and makes change funds for cashiers.  Receives, counts and verifies monies received with daily cash reports for accuracy.  Makes deposits.  Provides input for short and long range planning. Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualification Requirements:  Requires three (3) years of work experience that demonstrates knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, regulations, and administration related to maintenance operations. Professional knowledge of the lodging organization, administration, policies/procedures, in conducting day-to-day operations. Must be skilled in the use of personal computer and various software programs, including knowledge of the property management system.  Must possess basic math and reading skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Conditions of Employment:  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of National Agency background Check (NACI) with written inquiries. This position involves work on workdays and may include weekends, and holidays, as well as rotating shifts, often consisting of other than normal duty hours. The staff member may be recalled to duty and/or required to work overtime, including on an emergency basis.  Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds (100 lbs. assisted) is required. May be required to climb/descend stairs and properly placed stepladders. In order to verify fitness for duty, a complete physical examination at a military medical facility may be required. Must possess a valid state driver’s license, as travel to other facilities may be required.
