Custodial Worker Lead

Location: Navy Gateway Inns & Suites - Naval Base Kitsap Bangor & Bremerton

Pay Grade: NL-3566-02

The work directly contributes to the military members, retirees, civilians, and family member’s quality of life, mission readiness, and contributes to job satisfaction and retention of valuable members. Brief Description of Duties: Responsibilities include ensuring security of all guests. Welcome and interact with guests in professional manner to answer questions, provide information about local attractions, and provide assistance in handling customer complaints and involving management as necessary. Incumbent will utilize the Property Management System (PMS) for report access and work assignments for housekeepers. Will conduct daily inspections of rooms, housekeeping carts, common areas, laundry facilities, and maintains written documentation of inspections. Assist with training on proper work methods and safety procedures. Incumbent ensure equipment is properly maintained, stored and accounted for. Responsible for Monthly/quarterly inventory. Must perform duties of housekeepers, custodial workers, laundry workers and/or their respective leaders on an “as needed” basis to cover for staff shortages or other unanticipated occurrences. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: This position requires one year work experience that demonstrates professional knowledge of the lodging organization, administration policies/procedures, and practices in conducting day-to-day operations. Incumbent must possess basic math and reading skills and effectively communicate clearly both verbally and in writing using English.

Conditions of Employment: Successful completion of National Agency (NACI) background check. May be required to possess a valid state driver’s license for travel to other facilities. Incumbent may be required to work rotating shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays. May be recalled to duty and/or required to work overtime as necessary to meet mission requirements. Incumbent must meet the requirements for Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS) within six months of employment and all requirements for housekeeping/custodial services as outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide.

Physical Effort: Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighting up to 45 pounds is required. May be required to climb/descend stairs and properly placed stepladders.
