Food Service Worker (Leader)

Location: Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton - Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & IMF

Pay Grade: NA-7408-04

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Food Service Worker: Incumbent will be working in the main production area of Employee Food Services. The primary purpose of this position is to perform all aspects of food production. Job duties include all aspect of production with training, guidance and assistance from the Production Supervisor. Prepare food, use wrapping machine, use correct containers for breakfast and lunch entrees, sandwiches, salads and various other items prepared in the production area. Maintains knowledge of food labeling, pricing, and packaging. Maintains safety and sanitation procedures/requirements with the training and guidance from the Production Supervisor. Cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen and production equipment and utensils, etc.. Other related duties as assigned.
  2. Leader Responsibilities: In addition to performing normal food service worker duties, the incumbent leads 3 or more workers that support food service operations, ensuring they perform assigned duties in a professional manner. Recommends staffing requirements and submits work schedules to the supervisor, keeping employees advised of any changes. Ensures that the facility reflects the highest standard of cleanliness and sanitation and that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Ensures that personnel, space, supplies and equipment are available and that room arrangements/setups are completed. Provides training and assistance to lower level personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  Must be knowledgeable of all aspects of food and beverage service operation. Must be able to communicate in English. Must be skilled in public relations with customers and employees. Must present a neat, well-groomed appearance at all times.  Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 20 pounds and up to 60 pounds. Constant standing and walking required.  Must be reliable. Some experience desired and we will train. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record and insurable.

Conditions of Employment:  Successful completion of National Agency (NACI) background check is required.
